The journey of surrogacy is a pathway paved with hope, strength, and the unwavering courage to welcome new life into the world in a very special way. For Black women, this path also navigates through a landscape shaped by cultural heritage, historical context, and the pressing need for equitable health resources.

Key Statistics:

  • Black women are 3-4 times more likely to experience a pregnancy-related death compared to white women.
  • Non-Hispanic Black women are 44% more likely to be infertile than women of other races. Black women also have a higher rate of infertility than White women, at 7.2%, compared to 5.5%.
  • 44% of Black women report experiencing racism when visiting the doctor or clinic, making them less likely to seek out fertility specialists and care.

Here, we share a list of organizations, allies, and advocates all focused on Black reproductive health and care. From trusted organizations and financial aid opportunities to finding compassionate care that celebrates and supports your identity, these organizations are ready to help and ensure you’re perfectly poised to step forward into parenthood confidently.
